Dr. Tang performs over 100 robotic and open cancer surgeries per year.

However, this doesn’t mean he recommends surgery for everyone.

Dr. Tang focuses on shared decision making to provide the highest quality of care that is individualized to each patient.

He is committed to ensure that all of his patients understand and explore all of their treatment options.

Dominic Tang, MD

Dr. Tang was raised in Union City, California, a suburb just east of San Francisco. He graduated with a bachelor of science in Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics from the University of California at Los Angeles and then worked in a research lab for two years. After receiving his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, Dr. Tang completed his internship in general surgery and residency in urology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, where he also served as chief resident of urology. Dr. Tang then completed a fellowship in urologic oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida, where he received advanced training in complex robotic and open surgery. At Moffitt, his research focused on examining the impact of biomarkers and HPV infection in penile cancer as well as investigating quality of life outcomes after cystectomy for bladder cancer.

Dr. Tang is a member of the American Urologic Association and a member of the Society of Urologic Oncologists. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, hiking, and exploring new restaurants in Dallas with his wife.
